The Duet 3 system offers a modular and scalable architecture for controlling 3D printers, CNC machines, and other similar equipment.
At the heart of the system is the Duet 3 Mainboard 6HC, a high-power controller equipped with 6 high-current stepper drivers, 4 high-current loads, 6 fans, and numerous onboard inputs/outputs.
The system's flexibility is based on its expansion capability through CAN-FD connected boards, notably the Duet 3 Tool board. The latter, specifically designed for direct drive extruders (compatible with e3d Hemera XS v1.3 and others with appropriate brackets), centralizes the management of the stepper motor, heating element, temperature and filament sensors, fans, and probes, requiring only CAN-FD and power cables back to the mainboard.
The entire system is powered by RepRapFirmware 3 firmware and can optionally be supplemented by DuetSoftwareFramework on a single board computer, thus offering a complete and customizable solution for various machine configurations.
